Who We Are

Venkatesh Venkatasubramanian,
Principal Consultant, NEWgTLDProgram.com
New-GTLD.com is powered by DotUp and led by Venkatesh Venkatasubramanian — one of the most experienced new gTLD consultants active in the ICANN space today. With over 12 years of industry expertise, Venkatesh is the only independent advisor currently working directly with multiple registrars on ICANN accreditation and guiding applicants through the upcoming new gTLD round.
He has collaborated with leading brands and registrars such as Unstoppable Domains, UltaHost, OrangeHost, Trademarkia, Atom.com Domains, and even partnered with Tucows for backend registry services.
Through NewgTLDProgram.com and DotUpTech.com, he has helped over 100 businesses plan, apply for, and prepare to launch their own TLDs — from DotBrand extensions like .brandname to open generic TLDs like .tld. Whether it’s legal strategy, technical readiness, or policy compliance, this new gTLD consultant brings hands-on support across every stage.
If you're exploring DotBrand applications or planning to become a registry operator, working with a trusted new gTLD consultant is the smartest way to navigate ICANN’s evolving landscape — and you’re already in the right place.
Our Approach- New gTLD Application Process

Phase 1: Strategic Planning & Feasibility
As a trusted new gTLD consultant, we begin every engagement by laying a strong strategic foundation. This includes shaping your funding approach, outlining a preliminary business model, and mapping the essential documents required for your ICANN new gTLD application. At this early stage, our new gTLD consultancy evaluates whether your vision aligns with ICANN’s criteria — setting you up for long-term success.
Phase 2: Objection Readiness & Vendor Planning
Once ICANN publishes the next version of the Applicant Guidebook (AGB), our new gTLD consultancy begins preparing your application in detail. This includes drafting responses to evaluation questions, refining your TLD business model, building financial projections, and compiling all necessary documentation. As experienced ICANN consultants, we also assess risks such as public objections, string similarity, and contention scenarios.
In parallel, we help you identify and evaluate potential Registry Service Providers (RSPs), data escrow agents, and abuse management vendors.
Phase 3: Application Submission
When ICANN opens the application window, our new gTLD consultants handle the entire submission process on your behalf. We prepare and upload all supporting documents, ensure alignment with ICANN’s technical and policy requirements, and verify that every section of the application is accurately completed — on time and in full compliance.
Phase 4: Publication & Contention
After ICANN releases the official list of applicants, our new gTLD consultancy reviews whether your TLD falls into a contention set — meaning another applicant has applied for the same or a confusingly similar string. If that happens, our ICANN consultants guide you through your auction strategy or help explore community-based resolution options.
We also assist in preparing for the ICANN priority draw, where applicants may need to attend the draw event in Los Angeles to determine the processing order of their applications.
Phase 5: Objections, Comments & GAC Advice
During the public comment phase, applications can face scrutiny from the public, governments, and watchdog organizations. If any objections are raised or GAC (Governmental Advisory Committee) advice is issued, our new gTLD consultants handle all response drafting and submission. As a trusted ICANN consultancy, we ensure your application remains on track and compliant throughout this critical stage.
Phase 6: Evaluation & Approval
We handle all follow-up communication with ICANN, including questions from evaluators. Once your application is approved, we transition you into the post-approval phase.
Phase 7: Post-Approval & Delegation

After approval, we guide you through:
Contract Signing: Registry Agreement, Escrow Agreement, and onboarding commitmentsICANN Technical Onboarding: Account setup, reporting access, compliance frameworks
OT&E Testing: Required operational testing of your registry systems
Delegation: Final technical checks and launch of your TLD into the live DNS root

New gTLD Key Facts
ICANN’s upcoming round is projected to attract over 3,500 new gTLD applications, making it one of the most competitive rounds in history.
Here’s the challenge: only a handful of new gTLD consultants worldwide truly specialize in ICANN application strategy, risk assessment, and policy-driven drafting.
Submitting your application on Day One is crucial — earlier submissions are given higher processing priority, which can directly impact your go-to-market timeline and revenue potential.
Waiting until ICANN opens the application window may be too late to prepare thoroughly — and finding the right ICANN consultant at the last minute isn’t guaranteed.
Whether it’s application planning, technical readiness, or backend registry onboarding — the smartest time to begin is now.
